About Our Club Directors & Leaders
Evergreen Athletes is led by educators, former collegiate athletes, coaches, and sport leaders who are committed to building a purposeful, athlete-centered club environment.
Our leadership team brings together experience in coaching, teaching, athlete development, communication, performance training, and club operations. Together, we are focused on creating a program where athletes are taught, challenged, supported, and known.
Shandelle Reeves
Shandelle is the Co-Founder, President, and Director of Communications at Evergreen. She played five years of post-secondary volleyball at Concordia University of Edmonton, serving as team captain for four of those years. Shandelle is also the Department Head of Student Life and a Physical Education teacher at Lillian Osborne High School. She brings an athlete-first approach to her positive coaching style and is passionate about helping athletes build confidence, grow as leaders, and thrive both on the court and beyond the scoreboard.
Toby Zeigler
Toby serves as Evergreen’s Director of Training. A former CFL player and Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, Toby brings high-level athletic experience and a deep understanding of strength, speed, mobility, vertical development, and injury prevention. His training transfers directly to performance on the court and to living a healthy, active life.
Connor Reeves
Connor is a Co-Founder of Evergreen and serves as the Director of Coach Development. Connor brings thoughtful planning, integrity, and humor to coaching. His connection to volleyball runs deep, both as an athlete and as part of the Evergreen story. In a full-circle moment, Connor proposed to Shandelle at centre court after his final collegiate volleyball game at Concordia University of Edmonton. Through his role with Evergreen, Connor is passionate about supporting coaches and collaboration.
Cassidy Srogen
Cassidy is Evergreen’s Director of Administration and a volleyball coach with 10+ years of experience across all ages. She is organized, professional, and caring. Cassidy played three years for Concordia University of Edmonton and encourages athletes, especially young women, to push limits while enjoying the game.
Kyle Sabraw
Kyle is the Director of Athlete Development and a dedicated volleyball coach. With playing experience at Concordia University of Edmonton and Team Saskatchewan, he emphasizes personal growth, staying current with the game's evolution, and has an eye for detailed video analysis. Kyle's commitment to developing well-rounded players and promoting a deep understanding of the sport makes him a valuable mentor and coach.
Smudge & Rue
Smudge and Rue are Evergreen’s Directors of Pawsitivity, responsible for team morale, wellness checks, and making sure every athlete feels welcome. They are also in charge of quality treat control and have yet to reject a snack. Their compensation package consists entirely of ear scratches and games of tug.
