Evergreen Volleyball Club was founded in Edmonton, Alberta by a team of educators and former college athletes who saw an opportunity to create something different, a volleyball program that puts athlete development first, not just on the court but in life.

At Evergreen, being “evergreen” means always growing and learning, as coaches, as athletes, and as a community. We embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, staying curious and adaptable to the evolving game and the needs of our athletes.

We believe in holistic growth, developing confident, resilient, and strategic young people through sport. That is why all of our programming is designed to build leadership, mental strength, and a sense of community, in addition to elite volleyball training.

We also believe in doing things differently:

• We run one team per age group, allowing us to invest deeply in each athlete’s journey and focus on coach development, continuity, and connection.

• This structure allows us to host cross-age mentorship and team-building between younger and older athletes, building a true club community.

• Importantly, Evergreen does not profit from youth programming. Every dollar from athlete fees goes directly back into supporting our players, coaches, and high-quality programming.

Our comprehensive training model also prepares athletes for the rigors of post-secondary athletics, physically, mentally, and emotionally, ensuring they enter the next level equipped with the skills, mindset, and resilience to succeed.

Through this approach, we are committed to creating resilient athletes, young people equipped to face challenges with confidence, adaptability, and purpose both on and off the court.

Evergreen Volleyball Club is based in Southwest Edmonton, with most practices held at Lillian Osborne High School and nearby facilities. While we strive to provide consistent weekly schedules, gym access in Edmonton is limited and may require occasional adjustments. We appreciate your flexibility.

We have discussed this , as jerseys are a significant expense. The maintenance involved, including managing uniform deposits, collecting jerseys at the end of the season, and storing them in the off-season, creates a great deal of work for our volunteer directors. Also, players can have significant growth spurts between seasons, resulting in ill-fitting jerseys which they will likely not want to wear.

Each year we will create a clean and fresh look and continue our reputation as a polished, elite club. With our Partners at Jumplete we try to keep things as affordable as possible!

At Evergreen, we encourage athletes to stay with their family members during tournaments. This allows players to prioritize rest and recovery in a comfortable environment, which positively impacts their performance and contributes to a healthy team dynamic.

For additional international or out-of-town tournaments, where not all families may attend, we reconsider accommodations and may provide team hotel rooms to ensure all athletes have a positive and enjoyable experience at these special events.
