UPDATED FOR 2026/2027
Club Volleyball at Evergreen
Grow Your Game and Thrive Beyond the Scoreboard
Evergreen Volleyball Club offers competitive club volleyball programming for athletes who are ready to grow their game, challenge themselves, and contribute to a positive team environment.
The club season runs from November 2026 to May 2027. This page is designed to help athletes and families understand what a season with Evergreen Volleyball Club can look like, what to expect from our coaching approach, and how to stay informed about the upcoming season. As we grow, the age groups offered each season are subject to athlete interest and coach availability.
Evergreen Coaches Teach the Game
At Evergreen, coaching is more than running drills, managing lineups, and entering tournaments.
Evergreen was founded by educators and former college athletes who believe that great coaching starts with great teaching. We approach volleyball through an educational lens, combining a deep understanding of how athletes learn with experience competing at a high level.
Our coaches teach with intention. We break skills down, explain the “why,” provide meaningful feedback, and help athletes make adjustments that transfer into competition.
That means athletes are coached through the details: how to read the game, build strong technical habits, communicate with purpose, and make confident decisions under pressure.
We want athletes to understand the game, not just play the game. By blending strong teaching practices with high-performance expectations, we help athletes develop both the knowledge and skills needed to compete with confidence.
Explore the Evergreen Way
Use the expanding panels below to explore more about Evergreen Volleyball Club.
-
Evergreen is intentionally building a club experience that feels connected, purposeful, and athlete-centered.
We are not trying to be the biggest club. We are focused on building a strong program where athletes are known, coaches are supported, and teams are developed with care.
What Athletes Can Expect
Purposeful practices
Strong technical development
Clear coaching and feedback
Competitive opportunities
Mental performance and leadership development
A positive team culture
A growing club community
Our goal is to help athletes grow their game and thrive beyond the scoreboard.
-
Our values are our roots, shaping who we are and how we show up.
Empowerment: It all starts with belief. We help athletes build confidence, find their voice, and take ownership of their growth
Evolution: We believe coaches and athletes are perpetual students of the sport, constantly adapting, improving, and evolving. We're always learning, or in other words, Evergreen
Resilience: Challenges are part of the climb. We teach athletes how to stay strong, bounce back, and push forward both mentally and physically
Leadership: Whether quiet or bold, every athlete can lead. We build the skills to uplift teammates and make a positive impact
Performance: We bring it all together through high-level volleyball, mindset coaching, and physical training. Athletes are prepared to compete with clarity and purpose
These values guide how we train, compete, communicate, and build community.

On-Court Skill Development
Evergreen practices are designed to help athletes build strong technical skills and apply those skills in game-like situations.
Athletes may work on technical skills scaffolded from an educational lens, position-specific development, game strategy, decision-making, and competing under pressure.
Our goal is to help athletes understand what to adjust, why it matters, and how to keep growing.
Strength & Performance Training
Evergreen athletes gain access to strength and conditioning sessions led by Toby Zeigler, former CFL player, Certified Personal Fitness Trainer, and athletic performance coach.
Toby’s training focuses on strength, speed, mobility, vertical development, injury prevention, and functional athleticism that transfers to the court.
Long-Term Athlete Development
Evergreen’s training approach is informed by Volleyball Canada’s Long Term Development framework. We value developmentally appropriate training, physical literacy, confidence, recovery, and long-term growth.
We are not only focused on short-term results. We want athletes to build habits, skills, and confidence that support their full athletic journey.
Multi-Sport Development
Evergreen greatly values multi-sport development. Coaches incorporate Instant Activities into the beginning of practice to help athletes activate their bodies, engage their minds, and bring energy into the gym right away. These activities support movement, decision-making, creativity, and joy in sport. We believe athletes benefit from varied movement, different competitive environments, and opportunities to grow through more than one sport.
Athletes balancing other sports or major commitments should communicate with coaches early so expectations can be discussed clearly.
Practice Design
Evergreen practices are planned with purpose, and a template is shared across the club.
-
A positive team culture does not happen by accident.

We want athletes to feel like they are part of something bigger than their own team.
