Evergreen Code of Ethics

General Principles

All members and affiliates of Evergreen Athletes are expected to:

  1. Maintain Respect and Integrity: Treat everyone associated with Evergreen Athletes with respect and uphold the highest standards of integrity. Offer constructive feedback and avoid public criticism of athletes, coaches, officials, organizers, volunteers, or members.

  2. Exhibit Sportsmanship: Consistently demonstrate sportsmanship, leadership, and ethical behavior. Take action to prevent or address any discriminatory or unjust practices.

  3. Ensure Fair Treatment: Treat all individuals fairly and equitably, ensuring that the rules and spirit of the sport are followed.

Player Code of Conduct

As a player, I commit to:

  • Participating in volleyball because I enjoy it, not because of pressure from others.

  • Engaging in club activities while being free of alcohol, nicotine, and drugs.

  • Respecting everyone involved in my sport, including parents, coaches, teammates, officials, and opponents.

  • Avoiding violence, offensive language, and harassment of any kind.

  • Playing by the rules and maintaining the spirit of the game, and respecting my opponents.

  • Remembering that enjoyment, skill development, making friends, and trying my best are as important as winning.

  • Acknowledging good plays by both my team and our opponents.

  • Accepting and respecting the decisions of coaches and officials, understanding their role in my development.

  • Following all Club Policies and Social Media Guidelines.

  • Playing for the love of the game.

Parent Code of Conduct

As a parent, I commit to:

  • Not pressuring my child to participate in sports.

  • Understanding that my child participates in sports for their own enjoyment.

  • Encouraging my child to follow the rules and resolve conflicts without hostility.

  • Teaching my child that putting forth their best effort is as important as winning, so they don't feel discouraged by the outcome of the game.

  • Praising my child for competing fairly and trying their best.

  • Avoiding criticism or anger toward my child for mistakes or losses.

  • Being a positive role model by cheering for good plays by both teams.

  • Respecting the decisions and integrity of officials, recognizing that they are also learning.

  • Supporting efforts to eliminate verbal and physical abuse in youth sports.

  • Showing appreciation for the coaches and volunteers who contribute their time to the sport.

  • Adhering to all Club Policies and Social Media Guidelines.
